Got an email from the international casino here in Aberdeen today...
-----------------------------
DATES FOR YOUR DIARY
Saturday 28th February - £25 FREEZEOUT - starts 8pm
Friday 6th March - 6 Card Omaha £25 REBUY - starts 8pm
Saturday 7th March - £100 ONE ADD ON/REBUY - starts 7pm
-----------------------------
A 6 card omaha tournament! REBUY! That could get pretty expensive I would think.
What does everyone else think about a 6O tournament? Can it work?

I think it could work. I assume it is PLO6
TDing wise I guess it would be the same structure as a PLO tournament. If I were doing the TDing (and I'd like to think I did a decent job with the structures at the Watt) I would have worked out 5/6 different structures based on expected no. of players and expected number of rebuys. I assume international casino TD is better than the circus. The reson I am adressing the TD aspect is that a poor structure would IMO kill the tournament. Even more so than a poorly organised NLH Tournament.
Tournament play wise it could be a bit mental. Tight play would certainly be my way of playing as I reckon you could pick off the fish. Obviously theres a higher chance of being sucked out on, but I'd back most of us to do well. |

I doubt it although it does say the 6O is dealer dealt.
I might do it for a laugh. It'll give me something to post about. |

Yikes that could be expensive! Sounds like fun though, as long as your opponents aren't all total nits.
David's right - the structure is important. You could end up with so many chips in play due to the rebuys that the tourney never finishes. On the other hand the TD might over-compensate and turn it into a crapshoot. It's a difficult balance.
