Thought I'd post this up here for everybody.

There are two major Peer-to-Peer networks in use at the moment - ED2K and BitTorrent (Napster, Kazaa, Gnutella etc. are practically dead nowadays). Both networks have a wealth of poker TV programmes available to download.

ED2K is slower than BT, but more reliable in general. Files stay available for longer, and more people share parts of each file. You can search for files from the client software itself or use index sites.

BT is extremely fast, but less reliable. BT can also eat up your entire connection bandwidth if you're not careful! Files don't survive for as long on the network so it can be difficult to get older files. To download a file, you first have to open a corresponding .torrent file which you get from an index site.

To download from a P2P network you need a client.

For ED2K, get eMule from http://www.emule-project.net .

For BitTorrent, get Azureus from http://azureus.sourceforge.net

To download from BT you need to search some index sites. Some good ones are:

Torrent Spy (http://www.torrentspy.com)
Torrent Reactor (http://www.torrentreactor.net)
The Pirate Bay (http://thepiratebay.org)

Some examples of shows you can get from ED2K are: World Poker Tour, WSOP 2003, 2004, and 2005, old episodes of Late Night Poker, Poker Million, Poker Superstars and Celebrity Poker Showdown.

Some examples of shows you can get from BT are: Monte Carlo Millions 2004, Poker Superstars II, and High Stakes Poker.

That should be all the information you need - let me know if there is a great new show out that I might have missed.

If you are going to use bit torrent and don't want to use Azureus i'd recommend uTorrent.

You can get it at http://www.utorrent.com/

It uses a lot less processor power and space than Azureus and has almost all the same features.

Also for finding poker torrents try http://isohunt.com

It's like a search engine for torrents, try typing in 'world series poker' or 'world poker tour' to find a lot of good poker episodes.

I would highly recommend downloading WSOP Tournament of Champions 2005, absolutely excellent episode, especially if you like Phil Hellmuth or Mike Matusow.

Having recently sorted my self out for a web connection at home (yes I have been locked up for the last fortnight watching tv with it!) I'd reccomend http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ for viewing video files if you dont have this.

Bit of an ugly interface but it seems to play everything I throw at it (even with DivX windows media player didnt manage to) and stops files from talking to the internet like windows media player lets em (which im informed can be bad)...

yeh vlc is a superb program. it will even play unfinished torrent downloads, so you can preview large files to see if they are worth downloading (quality etc).
