This was posted at the UKstudentpoker.com
I get the feeling that last year's format of using 4 player teams from each University (up to 6 teams per Uni) worked well so unless there are any objections we will continue with this for this year. The Buy-In will be £40 per team (£10 per player) plus £20 buy-in for the Multi Table Tournament. All games are No Limit Texas Hold'em.
We will also use a similar itinerary to last year:-
11:00-13:30 Heads-Up Matches
13:30-14:30 Lunch
14:30-17:00 Single Table Tournaments
17:00-19:00 Dinner
19:00-01:00 Multi Table Tournaments and Prizegiving.
As before a point system will be devised and it will be the accumulation of points by the teams across all 3 events that will determine the winner; this is where I need help from last year's entrants. We are open to suggestions as to how the points system should be weighted for each tournament. I have heard that last year the Multi Table had the largest weighting. Should we go with something similar this year or does anyone have any suggestions as to how things could be improved? I will keep checking back here to see what everyone thinks.
Team registrations will have to be made one week prior to the tournament.
Heads Up:
30 minutes per match
4 matches per player
2 points for outright win
1 point for chip count victory
0 points for LOSING!
Total time - 2.5 hours (0.5 hr for re stacking chips and moving players)
STT s:
1.5 hr
max 10 people per table
8 pts - 1st
4 pts - 2nd
2 pts - 3rd
If it goes to a chip count (which it hopefully won t have to) deduct 1 pt per
prize.
MTT:
Final Table
10th - 3pts
9th - 3pts
8th - 3pts
7th - 4pts
6th - 4pts
5th - 5pts
4th - 7pts
3rd - 9pts
2nd - 11pts
1st - 13pts
I think this should be fair Chris, there will be a maximum of 64 pts available
to each team (assuming we can get all STT s to not have members of same team on
them) and in reality the top team will probably be on around 40 ish. So the MTT
will affect the rankings but will far from decide them.
In order to avoid delays in the Heads Up (i.e. drawing individual ties) we ll
just have a system already worked out where we assign numbers to each team and
A, B, C, D to each player and it ll be, for example 1A vs 4B on a designated
table.
I reckon Heads up should take 2.5 hrs, STT s 1.5 - 2hrs and the MTT dependant on
numbers but should fit in perfectly."

| By the way, this is being held on the 18th March. Actually, I might not even be able to go - it all depends on when Full Tilt hold the WSOP qualifier that I'm playing that day. |

By the way Chris seeing as you'll probably be short of a few players now with Alex and Marcus not playing, i'm definitely going and don't have a team. I thought with our combined success last year we can go one better this time round!!
If not, i might just have to advertise myself on ukspc and find a team lol |

Done so is this gonna b the winning team then:
Chris "Loose Goose" Wilson
Ian "surely think of something better than flukey pig" Grant
Steve "Jazzman" Walker
Craig "Kryptonite" Cooper
Sounds like we got this thing wrapped up already then |

| Cool....2nd is still respectable. Hw 1/2....how good would that be, that would shut St. Andrews up for a wee while anyway! |

Did you see that post on the UKSP forums where he listed all the university events that a St Andrews player had won? What a bloody joke. |

Yeah i did, pisses me off like, that's why it's so important for me to win UKSPC....not for the world series buy in, just to rub it in that the talent at HW is unmatched anywhere else .
Same goes with Scottish Champs, oh and their own champs aswell...we need alot of players to play in both! |
