I phoned to find out the Berkeley's schedule and it looks to have changed a bit since I was last there.
Monday - £10 No Limit Hold'em with Rebuys
Friday - £10 No Limit Hold'em with Rebuys
Saturday - £30 No Limit Hold'em Freezeout (woohoo!)
Apparently Mon and Fri register between 8.30pm and 9pm and start at 9.30pm, and Sat registers at 7pm.
Might have to give that Freezeout a go, it could be pretty good!

Thats a great sounding tourney.
Might actually get some proper play instead of the usual rebuy madness |

Sounds like a casino tourney in Edinburgh that might actually be worth playing in ! (or at least worth playing in without bringing 5* the buy-in along with you ) Although I would be unsurprised to find out that you get 500 chips with 25-50 blinds to start, if anyone is going along some saturday give me a shout anyway... |

| Why are there never any decent weekday freezeouts, this is at least a step in the right direction. |

| Just as an update - registration for the Saturday freezeout starts at 7pm, and apparently the dress code is no sportswear or shorts. |

Well the payout/tourney structure for this is a bit head scratching but i'm at a loose end this evening and could do with some live poker. If anyone fancies heading along let me know! (yes I am a big wimp and would rather not go to the casino on my lonesome ) |

Yeah, me and Scott went along. I bust out after a few hours having gone a bit card dead and pushing on the button with 5bb's (basically my starting stack by then although I had more than that at some point ) and 89o to be called by AQ. Scott did better finishing 8th when his Jacks couldnt beat a10 and 77 all in preflop.
Relatively enjoyable with a couple of moments that made me chuckle anyway.
1) Grumpy stanley regular guy saying if noone volunteered to deal he'd high card it so he did and it went to some clueless old bloke, about 10 minutes later we were still on the first hand and some other guy decides to take over (I wasn't in a dealing mood).
2) Young guy utg with about 9bbs (averagish at the time) looks at his cards, pushes them about an inch forwards (straight towards the muck!), takes them back and looks at them again then raises to 3bbs. Sadly I was in the small blind and somone else pushed all-in before it got to me The guy folded and said he had suited connectors (got to love harrington when people dont actually bother to read it properly!)
I also saw a guy early on get bumped out of 1k which his opponent should have put in the pot but noone else seemed to notice this, and knowing noone on the table I rather cowardishly decided not to mention it.. (10 minutes later the guy who won the pot realised he should have doubled his 2.5k stack but hadn't) moral of the story being pay attention I guess.
The structure for this is really bad, I was talking to one of the guys on my table in the bar afterwards and he seemed to think the Maybury put on much better games. |

Woo just won the 10 quid rebuy tonight for 670 quid... which is good because the payout is horribly skewed to first (150, 360, 670 from 40odd players.) Walk home was a bit nervy mind you |

Rebought twice and topped up so was in for £40
1st hand 25-50blinds 500stacks AKo on the button, raise to 200 sb and mid-pos limper call, flop A Q 5 no suits. MP pushes all-in I call for the rest of my chips and he has AQ... rebuy!
3rd hand AhKh raise to 200 guy to my left calls, flop 3 3d 6d, push all-in guy calls with 4's and boats it up on the river... rebuy!
(3 hands in and two rebuys I was wishing I had stayed at home!)
After this I decided to play nice and tightly (even passed 99 to a tight guys raise, although Q10 and QJ thought they would have a bash at his aces! (and I would have won but nevermind)) as I only had 20 quid left in my wallet and I had to leave some for beer...
Managed to get all-in behind twice - 69 vs A8 on a 8 6h 5h flop (check raised all-in - the guy was limping and then betting alot of flops - and he thought about it for ages, a testimony to the tight image I can produce when the next rebuy is my beer money ) 7 on the turn and that guy was not a happy bunny. KQs vs KQo vs A8o all in preflop (I was short!), split when a king popped up. So I think it was quite jammy overall but on the otherhand I was getting dogcrap for cards all night (after the two AK's) so I think karmically it worked itself out!
Yeah I'll probably waste some money on the ppt thing also if anyone else is going along since I can write it off as 'profit' now. Isn't it on thursday tho ? |

Congratulations sir!
So does that mean that there wasn't a deal at the final table, and only top 3 were paid? |

Nope, some biddy (same biddy who decided Stuart G's hand was dead because she couldn't see it when she was dealing the first time we went along to the freezeout) suggested a £30 saver at the start of the final table. I'm not sure if that was 30 for everyone or just for fourth as someguy was just 'nodeals' and she went out before he did.
He went out 5th but it wasn't brought up again and i wasnt about to as we were approx,
5k 24k 3k 18k(me)-4handed (400-800)
10k 6k 34k(me)-3handed (600-1200)
and 4k 46k(me)-headsup (600-1200)
and anyone who brings up a deal with my chipstack and that situation/payout needs their heads examined |

It mentions there will be room for lots of play, but the ambiguity of that statement means it's still in the air.
I'd imagine about a 100BB stack, 30 min clocks but who knows? |

| I phoned the maybury to ask them about the tournament and it sounds very good, 7k starting stack and blinds start at 25-50, which gives you 150 BB as well as that the first two levels last 45minutes each, and then 30mins for the rest of the way. Should probly register before friday as they can only take 120 players and paddypower will be sending numeropus online qualifiers. |

Sounds good, although I would definitely suggest registering before friday as the tournament is on thursday |
