Definitely want to qualify for this one. At £500 the main event's a bit steep unless I can qualify, so I'll definitely be at some of those rebuy satellites. I might even sign up at Gala Poker on the net.

I really want to try these sattelites too, but I'm wondering 2 things.

1) Is it possible for a french guy to play the GB tournament
2) Maybe it would be a good idea to make a sattelite in the society. Buy in 10 pounds, 1 rebuy and 1 ADD on allowed, no cash prize, but we use the money to pay a place for the first or the first and second players of the tournament. It is a good way to have a player of the university in this big tournament.
What do you think about that?
Happy to see you in some days guyz

Don't think there should be a problem with you being French.

I think a uni satellite is a great idea! Anyone in the committee fancy arranging that?

We would struggle to get a prize pool of £550 though!

We only need 500, 550 is because casino's take 10%

And if we do a 10P rebuy, if everybody does 1 rebuy or 1 ADD on we could have an entry for 25 players. It could be nice

love this idea !

£10 double chance, or £20 DS freezeout?

We can make it that we play either one as soon as we get enough names....(~2

or if there is mass appeal we can have more events, or a bigger event with more seats to be won.

So if you're interested in playing a £10 double chance or £20 deepstack post post post ! expressing which you'd rather play.

Also, I think it worth noting that a £20 MTT with one prize is a bit shite... so any ideas to raise appeal ?!

Nice one princali!

We would need £550, trust me.

10p rebuy? That would need Negreanu to play to get £550

Personally, I think the £20 rebuy on the wed before the event is probably the best option for affordability/likelihood of getting a few tickets up for grabs with poorer players.

£10 rebuy with us lot sounds good too though. Although it's hard to imagine a deal wouldn't be done, then nobody actually plays the ME. Unless we decide there are no deals from the start.

I wanted to say 10 Pounds and not 10p sorry

On my opinion, a 10 pounds 1 rebuy and 1 add on could be nice but why not a 20 pounds deepstack, it is a good way to play a long time and not 30 minuts like in casinos.

We could do an other thing too, imagine that we play 7 or 8 weeks. Take 15% from the cash prize of each tournament.
It should represent like 30 pounds a week
30*7 = 210

Then, we can do a little sattellit with people who made 4 or 5 tournaments.
We would only need 300 pounds for an entry 300+200 = 500 (approximately)
So 30 players with 10 pounds and 200 from the tournaments would allow to have an entry

(was just a suggestion)

(and sorry, my english suuuuuuuuux )

Or, a lot of 2 pounds rebuy tournament.
The winner of each tournament go to the final tournament to win the entry

2 pounds * 3 (by player) * 20 (players each time)
= 120

5 tournament = 600 pounds

And we do a final table with the 5 winners

I have a lot of stupid ideas, just tell me to stop and i will lol

Ok well as theres alot of interest any players who are interested in taking part in a satellite let me know on monday and ill try to arrange something.
Once I know how many players are actually interested in taking part I could set up a game.
For players who are unlikely to be at poker on monday and are interested E.G Alex or Ian, Ill put up a post with a few suggestions on tuesday after I know the general consensus.

Guessing you didnt do well?

If theres 10 people interested just have a £55 STT winner takes all!

I think the best idea is to just have a £55 STT winner take all, if there are concerns that people may try to make deals at 3 handed or heads up stages then it could be agreed that it is a winner take all structure before it begins.
Anyone who is willing to take part just post below, I will play
